Parent & Children Workshops (one adult and one child) To make these workshop safe for parents and children, I will not be running at full capacity under further notice. I will be limiting the number to 6 families only. Additional children £5.00 Block booking will be advised that way your space will be guaranteed Also book and pay for 6 workshops in advance and get a week FREE Be Secure, Be Safe, A New Approach -The Forest Approach - Nurturing Nature. ‘The Hut’ and local woodlands will aim to develop: Self-Awareness Self-Regulation Intrinsic motivation Empathy Social communication skills Independence Positive mental attitude Self esteem Confidence A Typical Forest Approach Workshop. The Forest Approach have designed their workshops to encourage everyone to feel comfortable being/playing outdoors and exploring the woodland environment. The Hut & Woodlands allows lots of opportunities to be creative in an outdoor setting with space to explore activities that interest children. The Forest Leader may provide some loosely structured planned activities; however, the direction will be decided by the children and each workshop may differ. The Forest Approach led by a forest leader aims to provide holistic learning for all children and adults in our base ‘The Hut’ and within our outdoor environment; learning is enhanced by the fantastic woodlands that surround our base. Some learning experiences are loosely structured in order to accommodate interests and curiosity. The Forest Approach enables children to experience managed risk and allows them to make their own decisions which helps them develop into more confident individuals. The Forest Approach differs from other forms of learning in that it focuses on the whole person. In an environment outside of the formal educational setting of classrooms the woodland creates its own learning environment framed by safety routines and established boundaries. Children experience active learning in a less structured manner which suits the individual learning styles of many children. Fantastic way for parents and children to do things together - in the calming environment of the woods , den building on site , make fires, arts and crafts. Storytelling and much more.
