With forest school ethos, a specialised approach sits within and complements the broader context of outdoor and woodland learning. Based in Hartley Wintney, The Forest Approach is an alternative outdoor space for children aged 3-5. We are entirely outside! I have a limited 2.5 years of places. Our preschool enables children to experience managed risk and allows them to make their own decisions which help them develop into more confident individuals. The Forest Approach differs from other forms of learning in that it focuses on the whole person. Outside of the formal educational setting of classrooms, the outdoors creates its learning environment framed by safety routines and established boundaries. Children experience active learning in a less structured manner which suits the individual learning styles of many children. We provide continuous play opportunities, sustainable space for extended exploration. It includes sharing experiences and develops an authentic ripple of school readiness and preparation for life as they learn through their interests and curiosity. The Forest Approach represents a magical childhood of play and incredible outdoor learning opportunities. Children benefit from abundant space to move freely and precious time to investigate what interests them. Our fees are charged at an hourly rate and vary according to the age of your child. We have limited Two-year-old spaces and are set slightly higher rates as they require a higher teacher-to-child ratio of 1:4.
